Yosemite Getaway 2018

We managed a quick getaway to Yosemite National Park in the spring. The weather was perfect and we had a beautiful room with a view at The Majestic Yosemite Hotel (formerly The Ahwahnee Hotel). Our big hike for the trip was up the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls and on to Nevada Falls. We came back down the John Muir Trail. In total, the hike was a little over 7 miles. In addition, we enjoyed short hikes from the hotel and to Mirror Lake.

We did have one exciting monument … on our return from Mirror Lake we turned the corner on a trail to come within 50 feet of a Black Bear! He seemed a little too curious for us, so we took a U-Turn and moved in the opposite direction in a hurry!
